1: Disassembly and frame prep

The HiBoy had been sitting in a field for the last 10-20 years and had been a work truck before that so it made a great chassis donor – all sheetmetal was either rusted or dented beyond repair.

	Just getting started – the radiator, timing cover, oil pan, etc. had already been removed, as if someone had been trying to diagnose a problem before giving up – hmmm…

	Mystery solved – broken snap ring allowed wrist pin to float into cylinder wall. Won’t be using this block…
	Disassembly finished – down to the bare frame now, time to start the rebuild.
	Frame back from acid dipping and ready for some modifications: New rear spring hangers (these tend to collect water and rust out). Replacement of front cab mounts (using the ones from the Slick) Replace rusted out rear crossmember brackets. Boxing the front driver’s side frame for later install a ‘79 power steering box.
